Hallo

Since I started training this way I have a great new relationship with my horse. She learned to trust me and she has shown me a very friendly side of her, which I haven't seen before. Here is where I learned it, does anyone else here work with bridleless training?

Bridleless Training
By Palm Lynn

Bridleless Training is for the rider as well as for any breed of horse in any discipline. The important benefit of the rider's use of seat and leg aids is stressed, taking the emphasis off the hand aids which allows the rider to communicate more clearly with the horse. You become a more confident rider and improve rider balance problems caused by improper use of your hands. You'll learn to read your horse and understand where he carries his natural balance. This DVD provides excellent training techniques for older horses, for horses that have problems accepting a bit, and is excellent for horses that show signs of resistance as it provides a technique to get them to slow down and accept what they are doing. Using horses in different stages of training, Lynn demonstrates steps that must be followed and carefully evaluated before you advance. Ground training, numerous types of maneuvers, and many stages of training were involved in this unique bridleless training method. The final segment demonstrates the advanced horse, using Rugged Lark to show you the results of training through Love, Acceptance, Respect, and Kindness. This DVD can help you mark a new beginning in the relationship you have with your horse. However, always remember the many safety tips Lynn uses as an important part of all you do whether you are riding and or training.

DVD

you can find out more about the dvd, when you go to http://www.horsesinyourmailbox.com/

I have a dear friend who's heading to Iraq and she needs to find a home for a very well bred mare, that is 15 yrs old and has an old injury (back) which would limit her being ridden by an adult for long periods of time. She's broke and gentle, but needs a good home. Her owner asked that I reach out to the Arabian community and find a place she can be safe from harm and comfortable. She's got papers and is a looker and would make a great companion horse or broodmare also. I can get you details, but she will be needing a home very soon. She's located in Texas and her owner is heading to Iraq and needs help with this issue! Please find it in your heart to help out with this .... thank you one and all....
well he just askt me if i would take care of some stalions he wants to sell.
they know nothing at al. they are between 2 and 14 and he wants me to learn them to be led and to be handled by people...
ofcourse i said yes. ( i get some money depending on how good he sells them) and i have done this kind of things before and it really is something i love doing...
now as i walked in the somewhat dirrty stables ( the man is almost 70 he had trouble keeping cleen)
there he is... dark brow with a white stripe over his head...4 white feet... almost 4...
i was emediatly in love. hes a pure arabian stalion with super lines.
and i am a fan of the breed for many years now ( did a few shows for people that wanted me to ride there horses so they would be worth more and get more atention at shows)...
if you become friends with an arabian it will do practicaly everything for you...
if the horse doesn't like you.... you beter be a good runner...
does any 1 have tips what i could learn him ( i'm not going to ride him for the first months. want to be really good friends with him before i try anything like that...) any good things to get him to trust me accept massaging and taking him for walks in the forest because i already plan on doing that...

For all of my friends that heard about the untimely death of Amanda Phillips of Chandler, Oklahoma, who was murdered on her way to visit her family in Nashville. She was a avid Arabian Horse Breeder, who had the site, Calen's Arabians, Amanda was murdered March 21, 2005 and this August, 6th 2006, I was honored to be apart of her memorial service where her family and friends, brought some closure to the untimely loss of such a lovely young woman, who's greatest love was Jesus Christ and her Arabian Horses. I am fortunate to have been her friend, and her family recognized that as they let me have the last foal she hand raised, Chadesea Rose for Asan. The little black filly is the pride of my ranch, and I just wanted to let you all know, those who read about her murder that I shared in the experience to spread Amanda's ashes in the most beautiful place I've ever seen, Logan's Pass at the West side of Glacier National Park, Montana, and her favorite spot to spend her family vacations at. I understand now why! Now Amanda lies down in green pastures, as was part of one of her favorite prayers... the 23rd Psalm, the last prayer she ever recited. We celebrate her life, and now I will watch her favorite filly, Chadesea grow into all she dreamed the little filly could be! I just wanted to share this with you all, those who also love the Arabian Horse. Thanks for reading this... Denny from Equi-Stop Ranch, Russell, Kansas.

He has been retired and lives a life of luxury in North Mississippi. I don't have any horses at the moment, due to personal economics, or lack thereof. However, as soon as I can get this property fenced and my finances improve enough to purchase a new (to me) trailer, then I intend to get another Arab buddy to ride the trails. After being pals with Assad el Saad, I don't think I could switch breeds. Until riding Arabs and interacting with them, I didn't know what intelligent, loyal friends they could be, not to mention the smoooooth ride. While interacting with people who ride the lesser breeds, I endured a lot of insults and nasty comments from horse-owners who are ignorant of the true Arabian character. Ah, the joys that they will never know...

Introductions:

I am in southwest Washington for now, and have been a preservation breeder for over twenty years.

I linebreed to Laurali #44813, a multi-champion Draper/CMK double-*Lassa mare who was everything Walter Farley ever imagined in an Arab. Her sons are by Egyptian Prince, Raffles, and Serafix lines, and her granddaughter has Taj Mahal and Bariche de Washoe in the mix. The outcrosses are perfect to compliment her without taking anything away, and let me linebreed heavily without inbreeding. So far, it just keeps getting better with each generation. The photo of Laural Vaquero in the album shows the first triple-Laurali baby. We are very small, and once in a blue moon get out to a show.
In the time before the Flood, horses were wild creatures of the plains; course of build, dusty-brown like the dry grasses, fearful of man. Then there were the unicorns.

Unicorns were rare and beautiful creatures, with huge liquid eyes, delicate features, and silken coats that changed from baby red or black to luminous silver in adults. They carried their heads high and proud, and their tails flung in the wind like banners. The unicorns did not fear man, but sometimes sought his company as intellectual equals, inspiring all privileged enough to know them with their grace and beauty.

Noah faithfully carried aboard the arc a pair of the finest unicorns; a large fiery stallion of great speed, and his kind, gentle mare who was famous for her beautiful head. They patiently endured the confinement, waiting for the water to recede. When it did, however, jagged rocks began to poke up from the water, and some scraped and banged against the hull, frightening animals and worrying the family.

One windy evening there was a loud crash as the hull was pierced, and water began rushing into the arc. Panic ensued, and Noah cried out to God, asking Him to save them. God replied, "I already have." Noah looked out and saw the unicorn stallion leaping out into the waves.

The stallion swam beneath the arc and drove his horn deep into the hole, where it broke off. The water stopped pouring in, and the arc stopped sinking. The family joyfully bailed out all of the water, then noticed the mare standing with her head hanging. Only then did they remember the stallion, who had no way to get back into the arc. Without their help he had drowned in the rough water.

When the arc finally came to rest, the animals ran out onto the land. The mare, now very heavy in foal, stepped out last and slowly went around the arc to her mate's broken horn. Her dark eyes filled with grief, she sank her own horn deep into the arc next to his, and snapped it off. It never grew back, but left a scar on her forehead.

Soon after, lovely twins were foaled. They were fine baby unicorns, and between their huge eyes were the bulging hornbuds of their kind. But their mother's sorrow while carrying them had made them different. Their horns never grew, and in their place were marks of purest white where their mother's scar was.

Their descendants still keep the memory of their valiant sire, and have his selfless courage. Ashamed that they had forgotten the stallion, Noah's family spoke little of the original unicorns, and in time they became known only in myth. We now know their descendants as Arabian horses.

when I got my mare (years ago), the original owner had started the registration process, and gotten the baby assigned a number. Unfortunately, she never finished the process, and I have in my paperwork a letter from the registry saying that the 'case' would be closed unless she responded, which she didn't. So, at this point, I think I need to DNA test her to prove lineage, and then get her registered. I'm just thinking that if I decide to breed her the registry is valuable, otherwise, since I'm not planning on selling her, and we don't show, I'm somewhat ambivelant (no offense anyone!). Last time I checked, it was insanely expensive to do this process thru the registry, and as a doctoral student and poor therapist, I just don't have the money.

So- I really have 2 questions:
1. does anyone have thoughts on the value of putting your arabian on the registry or not?
2. does anyone know if the hair DNA testing method is acceptable for this? I know there is a company that tests hair follicles, and it's much cheaper than sending blood to the arabian registry.

Thanks for any advice!
